The formation of the North Troy Stag Rod & Gun Club was finalized in 1983 by merging the North Troy Rod and Gun Club and the Stag Rod and Gun Club. The club is located on 200 acres off Cushman Road in Melrose, NY. We offer a wide range of Sportsman activities throughout the year.
The next monthly membership meeting will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 @ 1:00PM. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM from April thru December and for the winter months of January, February and March, meetings are at 1:00 PM on the first Sunday of the month.

Our annual game dinner, a.k.a.The Beast Feast will be Saturday, March 3rd at the clubhouse. Tickets are very limited and will go on sale at the end of the February membership meeting. Cost is $20 per ticket and each member may purchase up to 4 tickets.
The March membership meeting will be conducted on Sunday, March 4th beginning at 1:15pm. Annual election of officers and board of director members will be held prior to the meeting, beginning at 11:00am and ending promptly at 1:15PM. President John McCarty and Treasurer Phil Hembdt have decided to not seek re-election. The offices of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Financial Secretary are up for election, as well as the usual 2 seats on the Board of Directors. In addition, Gary Hebert resigned his board seat at the last meeting of the Board of Directors because he is a candidate for President; so a 3rd board seat with 2 years left will be filled at the March elections and will go to the 2nd highest vote getter. All newly elected officers begin their new terms on March 18th; board members begin immediately. Any member who has attended at least 6 meetings during 2011 and who has been a member for at least one year is eligible to run for any office by adding their name to the sign-up sheet prominately posted in the clubhouse. Dues renewals are running ahead of prior years. At the September 2011 membership meeting, the bylaws were amended and the dues were increased for the first time in 17 years. Full member dues are $80 per year for the 2012 dues year, up from $48 per year and initiation fees for new members are increased from $66 to $120 plus dues. Dues were payable by January 1st but will be accepted up to and including the February 2012 meeting without penalty. Thereafter, there will be a $20 per month late charge for up to 3 months before being dropped from the rolls.
Our annual Gun Raffle is over for another year. If you didn't get a call - you didn't win. There was one lucky gun winner every day from October 1 thru October 30 and on October 31st, NTS member "Lucky" LeClair won the ATV 4x4. He noted that it wasn't a Harley but he'd take it anyway.
A reminder: All members must complete the new range certification process before using the indoor range. Sign up sheets are posted at the club to schedule your recertification.
New members are not permitted to brings guests to the club during the first year of their membership. We will be publishing an FAQ page here shortly to address issues like this.
Be sure to notify the TREASURER (Phil Hembdt) when you move or you get a new phone number so you can continue receiving the newsletter by US Mail. The newsletter will be available on this web site prior to the mailings so you may wish to read it here instead and use the postage saved towards club imporvements.
